2025 MARC Elections!

Greetings all!

The Murray Amateur Radio Club (MARC) just held our elections as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation as well as the By-Laws.  The elections were held at Station 83, which is also Murray City's EOC location.

Tables were set up for us as well as a large screen TV on which we displayed the Zoom applications so the Zoom participants could be part of the elections.  Thank you Murray City Fire for helping us out in this regard!

We had many members join us for this event, both in person as well as via Zoom.  Jeff Moore, our club Secretary, conducted the actual election process.  The Nominations were had and by unanimous vote the following people became (okay, re-became) the officers of the club for the next two years:

PRESIDENT - Dan Lundwall

VICE-PRESIDENT - Jan Peterson

SECRETARY - Jeff Moore

TREASURER - Sherwood Preece

Once the club officers were selected, voted on, then approved by the membership of the club Jeff (now, the new club Secretary) announced that the club was looking for people to hold COORDINATOR positions, like the Event Coordinator, the Training Coordinator, Webmaster, Historian, Librarian and Net Control Coordinator.  The club members are discussing amongst themselves if they would like to volunteer for these positions.

Justin volunteered to help out with the Historian and Webmaster positions.  Russ volunteered again to be our Net Control Coordinator (A BIG THANK YOU RUSS!!) as well as help with the Webmaster position.  THANK YOU TWO FOR VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME AND EFFORTS TO THE CAUSE!

As President of the Murray Amateur Radio Club, I want to thank everyone who participated in the election process.  Next time it will run a bit different in order to more mimic the normal election process that is found in the political scene... but until then, and despite of how it was run on the 15th of May, 2025, I thought it went quite well.
