Weekly Training Meeting

We discussed the upcoming July 4th parade and had a Q&A session about what to do, how to handle various situations, etc.
One important factor is that everyone participating must have a yellow vest. Vests can be obtained from NPS (1601 Empire Rd, Salt Lake City, UT 84104), Harbor Freight, or any other provider.
We will have a representative speaking at Salt Lake County ARES (http://www.slcoares.org/) on 25 September 6:30 PM at their meeting at IMC located at 5121 S. Cottonwood St, Murray. Dan will be presenting on effective grounding. He will also be giving this presentation at a club meeting prior to 25 Sept., date to be announced.
Dan has published for review two frequency lists for us to use as a standard frequency load on our radios. This will allow us to be "on the same page" when it comes to which frequencies we are using. For example, if we are using a frequency and someone else needs to use it for whatever purpose, we can "QSY to channel 6" and everyone switch to the same repeater. Dan is publishing this list as an Excel spreadsheet. We will also be converting it to CSV format to be compatible with Chirp. Watch for these files appearing on the site soon.
